JUBU and other topics, a combo thread

I did not have a good experience with JUBU - I was involved in the first group buy for the JUBU ECU.

Thinking of Selling Macan GTS and Mint e46 M3 for Emira

I have a Macan Turbo with the Performance Package, PCCBs, PTV+, and 18-way seats. It is an incredible car for just jumping in and going somewhere, fast or slow, rain or shine. The Emira is not that car, at least not for me. I presume you are aware of the storage space, or lack thereof, as...

Emira JB4 Tuning Now Available for I4 & V6 Cars!

I contacted Laguna Seca racetrack, which is by where I live, to see if I could purchase high octane gas from them. Unfortunately, they do not sell to the public, they only sell the gas to those participating in track days. I did however get a recommendation to call another local company and that...

Emira JB4 Tuning Now Available for I4 & V6 Cars!

Wow! This looks interesting. Any feedback from Berger on torque limits of drivetrain and tranny for V6?

    Feels slower than 400bhp

When I ordered the JUBU 440 kit, there were two options - 6,800 RPM limit or 7,200 RPM limit. I specified the 7,200 RPM limit but going beyond 7,000 RPM is still not possible. Once in a while, the revs will drop too low when coming to a stop in touring mode with the clutch engaged and the...

    Feels slower than 400bhp

I’d say stock 718S vs JUBU 440 Emira would feel pretty close, with an edge going to the JUBU 440 Emira on the top end. My tuned 718S had such a large wallop of torque down low that didn’t die off until higher RPMs so it felt like it had more of a shove versus JUBU 440 Emira. Looking at Car and...

    Feels slower than 400bhp

It is not plug-and-play; I understand each one must still be tuned remotely. I was one of the first to get one in the US, and I've had several tuning sessions with JUBU since taking delivery of the ECU last August. My ECU is about 85%-90% of the way to being a "polished product," IMO.

    Feels slower than 400bhp

I had a 718S, first stock, then tuned. It’s 100% the torque curve. The Emira is gutless down low compared to the 718S. The turbo shove of the Porsche is apparent as low as 2,000 or so RPM, while the Emira needs to get above 4,000 RPM or so before it starts moving. I had my Emira stock for...

Is it weird I like driving it a lot more than modern 911's?

I owned a tuned 991.2 GTS a few years ago and I’ve been recently thinking how nice it would be to own another one again, but the move would necessitate me selling either my Emira or my 111RS Elise. Porsches do everything well, and at or near the limit, they are incredible driving experiences...
