I am in contact with KEF and I will try to get them to get involved. So far they routed me back to Lotus but I also have a good contact at Lotus who is keen to get to the bottom of the problem and I can't imagine KEF themselves would be happy that we are not happy so it shouldn't be a no brainer...

now that is interesting as my dealer says the brakes/brake set up have never changed throughout production but what you say reinforces my impression that they definitely have! I have asked them now to drive the two cars (mine and the demo) back to back and give me their thoughts :-)
