I asked a similar hypothetical question to that - although about O2 sensors and not clutch. I think the essence of the answer was; if it is just a worn clutch plate - an item that is a consumable - then you are not covered but if it was another problem with the clutch that would not be expected...
I remember that it was a great run, all lining up on the street in Le Touquet and all the locals coming over to ask questions. I still have my 111S I took on that many years ago. I had a little run in with a local farmer on that trip!
Get yourself a test drive - see if you can try out both the...
OK I rang Vicky and asked all these questions:
- the £5,000 limit is the per incident limit,
- there is no restriction on the amount of incidents you could have,
- the £5,000 limit can't be increased as no underwriter offers this, Vicky stated that they have never had an incident that cost more...
Jon Seal offers a cheaper version (but still £50 more than the Oakmere 1-year one) if you use an independent Lotus shop rather than a delaership, the Jon Seal one also provides breakdown cover.
Oakmere provides a 3-year version that seems much better value.
Also a £5,000 claim limit maybe seems low for an Emira. Does anyone know the approximate cost of a full engine out rebuild, say if it throws a rod or something?
"Wear and tear included" ? That can't be right can it? If so what do they mean by this? Surely they aren't going to replace my tyres, oil, filters etc under warranty?
Excludes bodywork and paint as you might expect. Even so this looks like a decent deal.
The car (like the Elise and Evora) has a roll bar built into the design (overhead behind the seat). That's not really the same thing as a roll cage.
If fitting a HANS I would recommend at least bracing the roll bar with a cross brace that would stop it moving forwards or backwards.
Agree with...
You probably already know this - but just mentioning it...
Be aware that if you get an HANS device fitted it is safest to also have a roll cage or at least some way to ensure the roof does not cave in on your head.
Undo the battery cover in the boot. Two nuts and you have to pull the cover out from underneath the carpet at the bottom. Then as @ReadT states just untighten the negative terminal with a size 10 spanner and pull the terminal off the battery. Secure it somewhere safe so it can't short. The...
Yes, a "boom" noise exactly as you describe coming from behind the seats from the subwoofer, it's been reported several times on the forum. I've had it myself half a dozen times.
