    Emira Criticisms vs. My Experience

6500miles, daily driver, only one issue related to hasty electronic patch they had to do to sell them in March. Returned to have a steering wheel lock sensor replaced, it’s been without fault since. Its reliability is on par with my 911’s, better than my boxster, same as Aston Martin, better...

    Sun shade options?

I found one that fits the Emira perfectly, it’s mylar on the front with a waffle pattern, has insulation and is light but a rigid folding style. It’s made by snap shades from Australia. It’s about $90 with shipping, pricey, but I couldn’t find any other exact fits.

📓 Journals eriegz's long road towards Emira ownership — an owner journal

Great insights and congratulations on developing balance in life that is so key. I believe interactions with people centered around the car is also a great opportunity to give back. I attend car shows, let kids sit inside, talk to people when I fill up and I think certain things like these can...

    The 1st Edition isn't exclusive

That is exactly what mine did. It turns out when they did the last minute update for epa so they could finally sell the cars some of the steering wheel lock sensors were not compatible with the software update. It took a while to figure out the culprit because it doesn’t consistently fail...

    The 1st Edition isn't exclusive

I’m sure you’re joking about the unlock issue to allow it to start, but there is a fix for that and it’s 100% eliminated. It’s a steering wheel lock sensor that cannot communicate with the software. They replace the sensor and it’s fixed.

Uber, not under, sorry autocorrect changed it

Alfa 4c looking to purchase an Emira but am unsure

It’s probably dealer dependent, our Dallas Lotus has been very reasonable offering loaners if scheduled in advance and under for anything not scheduled.

23hours x $150 is only $3450 in labor plus whatever parts cost.

The PDK has two clutches, however they are not readily serviceable. When they fail or the electronic control module fails the transmission has to be replaced. It runs about $20,000, fortunately except early PDK’s and heavily tracked ones this is a rare occurrence until probably 150,000miles...

Alfa 4c looking to purchase an Emira but am unsure

Expensive cars have expensive parts and generally dealers charge high rates to stay in business. Low volume cars give fewer customers to distribute those costs among, it’s not surprising. I suspect the clutches on both and Emira and Cayman will probably last around 100k miles unless tracked...
