One Year & 14,000 Miles in a Lotus Emira V6 Manual

Just watched the whole thing. Great video. Perhaps one of the best/better videos on the Emira out there. He does talk about a recall for US bound cars at the 44:12 mark, linked below, for water intrusion that can cause electrical issues. Anyone know what he is talking about? What the recall...

    Just super frustrated!

I would not want them to blend into the hood and fenders. If it were me, I would take off the bumper and drop it off at the body shop for repaint. I would take a slightly mismatched bumper over a resprayed hood and fender.

Can you Permanently Disable Collision Avoidance?

It looks like all MY2026 Emiras will be equipped with a driver aid or ADAS. One of the aids will be an autonomous braking system that automatically applies the brakes if the radar/camera detects an obstacle. From what I read, auto manufacturers are being pressured to include these in all cars...

    Lotus Coffee Maker

In case anyone wants one and is willing to drop $600 for it, you can but it here. I have no idea if they are affiliated with Lotus cars. https://www.williams-sonoma.com/shop/electrics/lotus/

    Fatigue Detection?

I prefer not having it too. I hope the configurator is wrong and US Spec vehicles do not have it.

    Fatigue Detection?

The US configurator shows Emiras equipped with a Fatigue Detection system. I don't believe it was equipped on FE and 2025 US cars and assume it is new for 2026. Was this equipped on non-US cars? If non-US cars had it, anyone have issues with it; functional or reliability wise? Is it safe to...

Dealer Not Refunding Order Not Built

If that is a contract, the dealer is obligated to deliver your build at the agreed upon (2025) price. Dealer is going to lose a lot more if it wants to play this game. Below is a link to the relevant Florida statue. Paragraph 10 applies to your situation. Note that the statute mentions...

Lotus halt all delivery to the US.

I suspect more companies are going to suspend or curtail deliveries for the near term. What company wants to risk importing thousands of cars with a 25% tariff only to learn the tariff gets rescinded the next day. It's going to impact production of US built autos with significant foreign parts...

    Tariffs on Emira in US?

The Nomad Concept was awesome. One of the few times I wrote to a manufacturer begging them to put it into production.

    Tariffs on Emira in US?

I was told that once the build was submitted the deposit was non-refundable and that Lotus, understandably, cold not guarantee the price. If a tariff was imposed, you would be forced to choose between losing your deposit or paying an extra $25k-$30k in taxes.

Out of state US emira purchase

Every vehicle I bought out-of-state, I got a temp tag and did not pay sales tax at delivery. Only dealer that refused to do it was a dealer in NY. I usually get the MSO and can register the vehicle in my home state. Only exception was in PA. PA sent me a PA title with my home address. It...

    Vehicle delivered missing paint.

I second this as the way to go. I would take a slightly mismatched bumper over a front end that was completely resprayed. A shop that does high end work should be able to get it pretty close. One shop I used told me there were six variants for the paint code on my car. They sprayed test...

    Vehicle delivered missing paint.

Maybe ask the dealer to send you pictures of the bumper? If there was a battle with corporate over warranty work, there has to be pictures the dealer sent to Lotus.
