I would like to see a lap time comparison with a stock car with the only change being to a different tire, and by an experienced driver. Unmodified Sport suspension, Cup 2 LTS tires vs. whatever.

Bone stock I4, Sport, Cup 2 mid 40's hot. FYI, with almost 200 track days, in my experience, running more pressure saves the tires and results in about the same lap time.
Mine is a late 2014 build, I4. Takes a few jerks, but it will lock. That and the chest strap mentioned above held me fine. Have many years with harnesses so "fine" means no issues sliding around. It has an oem roll bar and air bags so that's what I am hoping works if I ever need it.
