Don't know if this helps but I have the drop-in filter and it made a big difference in sound. You can really hear the hissing under throttle now.
And it's like 10% of the price of the CAI.
They used Xpel on mine. The installer recommended that I wait another year to get potentially get more "damage" in it before replacing it but it bothered me too much. Plus, I don't intend on taking it on any more road trips.
After a 4k mile road trip I discovered that the PPF did a great job at protecting my car. There were some minor blemishes on the lower part of the car particularly on the black corners but that's to be expected.
My hood did managed to take an impact from something on the road. You can see the...
After having gone through this, I think those marks are too big to self repair.
According to my PPF guy, the heat from parking in the sun should be able to repair any mark that's repairable so I'd be extra careful with your attempts or you could make it worse.
Be careful using a heatgun. I tried using one on a small damaged area and it made it worse. Causing some wrinkling in the area and I had it on low heat and thought I was super careful.
Thanks! I was still only able to get 24.X mpg. Average freeway speed was probably 80mph.
I think you'd have to cruise at 70mph to get the revs low enough to get better fuel mileage. That's my take at least.
I ended up ordering this shifter from Raceng.
Like others have said, it sits at the same height of the stock shifter and the extra weight really helps improve the notchyness. It "falls" into gear more easily now.
FWIW, I had a different experience with their customer service when I emailed them a couple of months ago. They were responsive and helpful.
I just ordered one of their knobs based on all the positive comments in the other thread.
Thanks for the info and the write-up on the other thread.
I guess my main concern is getting all the oil to drain with it on the ramps since it won't be level.
I'm not due for an oil change for a while so I have time to figure it out.
