I've China has started Emira I4 manufacture from someone at a Lotus franchisee. Can anyone else confirm or refute this?
I'd venture to say the Chinese made Emira's would be higher quality.
Has 4 cylinder ever left Hethel? Last I read it was still in exhaust development. Once they get that finalized, they'll have to build tooling or their supplier will have to and that takes time. I imagine heat is going to be an issue with 4 cylinder.
If anyone in CH has an Evora they plan to trade in on an Emira... I have a cousin looking to buy an Evora who might offer a better price to buy than the dealer is giving on a trade. PM me if you are in that situation.
Forums make every car look like a junker. "Don't buy that Honda Accord, my Aunt had one with electrical issues..." "Toyota Corolla? My buddy's had leak." There's never stories on the car is running fine, nothing to report.
If it's like previous models, I would expect limited editions with unique interior and exterior touches.
If I were a betting man, I would expect a hybrid model to out in a few years. Perhaps a full EV. Evora was built around an EV consideration (power plant swap), so the Emira must be even...
Possibly. I'd like to wait until they're out in the wild and I can drive both engines. If I got the Emira, it would be my primary car. I buy another Evora or V8 Vantage, it can be a 2nd car. The new Vantage or DB11 used are also in the running for a primary car.
