For your reference see attached picture that shows you can still velcro the tirekit in the normal position. I know some owners have moved the kit or put it behind the seats when using the trunk, so this way there's not a big gap in the trunk mat when the tire kit isn't there. The standard...

The straps are long enough to come up behind the lip for the tire kit.. so the kit sits on top of the mat Reason I didn't do it for that was it would take up significant room and I know some people don't keep the tire kit in that place so they can get luggage and other bits in.. if I moulded it...
