Yea my point was that understanding Lotus’s decision making is beyond any of us. But I do feel they have more money to be made from base cars as a good portion of base deposits are just those that didn't make the cut for an FE. So many base specs may just be fully loaded, and with price...

I reached out to mine last week about base cars but no response. My rep is normally pretty good at replying so maybe he really doesn't know or just missed the email. Will try again this week.

And as far as customer satisfaction goes, FE customers are happy theyre finally getting their cars, and that with price protection and likely a considerable discount from a fully loaded base car. If starting base price comes in at just a few grand under I dont think anyone will be complaining...

As a previous S550 mustang owner id say Im fairly disappointed. Styling is a big miss, not mid engine, absurd pricing. Lets just say my deposit with lotus is nice and secure. Not that I would be able to get an allocation anyway

I think that would depend on what position you were at at your specific dealer. For me it was 29th on my dealer list for the base V6. I’m not sure what that translates to for all US deposits.
