Can an Emira owner compare their brakes to mine please?

Hi
Need a favour please. Spotted this on the edge of the front brake discs - need to know if this is normal or not.
Thanks in advance.

I will get my car on the first of March and will have a look if nobody checks it until then. However, it is machined that way, so probably on purpose. And even if not, it will have no effect whatsoever, and the discs look perfectly fine. Just some rust that will be removed while breaking the next time.

That does look a bit odd IMO. I've not seen that on any other cars.

Mine has this on the fronts. I actually raised it with Lotus Glasgow when I dropped it off this morning for it's final snagging list - at first glance no confirmation if it's a design or a fault.

^^ What KJD said.

Brake rotors have to be balanced like a wheel. But they don't add weights, the balancing is subtractive.

Hey thanks everyone for the replies, really helpful, learn something new everyday. 250 miles in now other commitments getting in the way of racking more miles up but that'll soon change and I'll be doing a journal.
